SIMX follows the FMCSR driver qualification criteria. However, SIMX also has a set company driver qualification that it follows. All SIMX driver applicants are required to:

•Be no less than 23 years of age.
•Have 1 year of verifiable experience.
•Have no major or serious traffic violations as described by federal regulations such as but not limited to the following: 
       ◦An Alcohol or Drug related offense
       ◦Leaving the scene of an accident
       ◦Driving while license is suspended or revoked
       ◦Reckless driving, careless driving, negligent driving
       ◦A speed in excess of 15 MPH over the posted speed limit in past three years
       ◦No more than two preventable accidents in the past three years

•Provide proof of identity and employment eligibility. 
(State photo ID,  SS card, birth certificate)
•Possess a valid commercial motor vehicle driver’s license from one state.

•Complete the in house application providing:

​ ◦Previous 10 years driving employment history.
  ◦Detailed driving experience.
  ◦Accident record for past 3 years.
  ◦Violations and convictions for past 3 years.
  ◦Any alcohol related violations or convictions for past 5 years.
  ◦Any drug related violation or convictions for past 5 years.
  ◦License information.

•Have successfully completed a road test and have been issued a certificate of 
 road test by the motor carrier, in compliance with Sec. 391.31.
•Have not received a positive result on a DOT pre-employment drug screen.
•Be physically qualified to drive the vehicle, in accordance with Sec.391.41.
